What's the best way to clean slides that have been in a cellar?

Don't clean them with mold! If anything you want to remove the mold!

Remove from paper mounts

Clean with liberal amounts of PEC-12 (Photographic Emulsion Cleaner)

Remount in plastic mounts

Don't put them back in the basement

I forgot about plastic mounts...

They belong to a friend of my wife's.  She seems to think if you know how to
make photo's, you know everything about photography.  :O)
