Like a lot of others, I'm looking to get a digital camera. I've had an
Olympus AF compact since they came out in198?... It is rugged enough
to put in a jacket pocket without worrying about, weatherproof enough
to be out in all weathers and down the occasional cave.
Its only drawback was no zoom.
What would be the closest replacement, given that i'm happy with the
results i'm getting from a fuji finepix that I have the use of, but it
feels so fragile I wouldn't dare put it in a pocket
I think i'm looking at an Olympus mju 400 or Pentax 33WR - anybody any
knowledge of these, or any other suggestions -

My husband's got a Finepix 2800, 6x optical zoom, only 2 Mp, but does what
he wants it to do, and I enjoy playing with it.
It gets the same rough treatment all my cameras get (went on safari the day
he bought it) no problems so far, but we haven't been down a cave with it!

Both of these cameras are pretty much point and shoot - not a huge amount of
manual control, but certainly the mju has a decent 3x zoom and as a bonus
the waterproof casings (if underwater is your thing) seem to be available
for under ?60 from one or two places.
