Best rechargeable AA batteries for digital camera ?

Hi

Goy my young 'un a digi camera for christmas and was wondering what NiMH
rechargeable batteries you guys would recommend ?

I note on eBay that Hahnel & Uniross are well represented. Are these
good makes or could anyone recommend better ? which would be the better
of the 2 ? What should I look for "feature" wise ?

I have had mixed results over the years, I haven't had any Hahnel
batteries. I started off many years (about 19) ago with three sets of GP
NiCd batteries for my old SLR's motordrive and flash gun. These I've
only just binned, and had good service from them.

I bought some new GP NiMH batteries when I got my first digital camera,
and they have almost lasted three years, but have been failing already.
Their charge life was Ok though.

I have recently replaced both my camera and the batteries, and this time
bought some Uniross - I have both 1800 and 2000ma. These have shown to
be excellent, and their service life is superb. I have yet to find out
what their overall life is though.

Look for high mAh ratings. The best commonly available are probably the
Panasonic 2000mAh, but you could do better.
