I don't seem to have seen a post here for over a week. Just wondered if
it's been dropped by my news server!

Hope you've all been out taking photos!

Perhaps everyone else has been busted.

LOL! Thanks for replying, Adam! (I've been suffering from that, too -
it's my type of photography, been doing it for 50 years!)

Thanks for replying...

Indeed - I've been nipping out between events!

The next Olympics will have a photo event. The award will be given to
the person who produces the best (unedited) portfolio within a ten
minute time scale. Penalty points of one photo per ten seconds over the
time. Score will be on the basis of variety, technical and artistic
excellence.

We did this (almost) recently at my photo soc. - 90 minutes to go and
comeback with four shots on a memory card.

Some of mine on Flickr.

Just had a quick look at the first couple of pages - from the RPS shots
I like "High rise". "Outside in" is really rather good too.

Thanks, Rob!

Actually, I only put one of my four on Flickr (the one of the couple),
what I'd forgotten is that no trimming or processing was allowed. So I'd
made the mistake of leaving all the camera settings to 'low' (ready for
post processing) whereas I ought to have increased contrast, sharpness
and saturation to make punchier shots!

So 'High rise' was awful until I'd trimmed and pp-ed it.

'Outside-in' is an example of *always* take the shot, even if you think
it won't work - because sometimes it does! (It's taking me years of
digital to break the habit of a lifetime of film!)
