i weighed my shiny new Lowe nature Trekker loaded and its over 10K. Its
said to be cabin baggage freindly but in my experience the modern check in
nazi sees anything thats "rucksack" as twice its real size. Anyway, what do
people do to get bags of cameras onto planes? I assume the "full price"
airlines have arrangements to pay extra?

In the 'good old days', newspapers used to pay for us to fly business
class, as you used to get an increased baggage allowance which would
help in this. Not now....

Now, I find the best way is to either wear a photographer's jacket with
stuff distributed throughout that for check-in and then put it back
into the rucksack, or if you're flying with others for them to hold
onto some stuff as you check in and then put it back into your bag
after.

No easy way, but that's worked for me in the past.
