Hi all
I have enjoyed my D50 now for just over a year. It's very, very good. I
think that my photography is starting to improve a lot, and I would like
to upgrade to 'better' equipment.
I am not on a pixel hunt!

I was going to seriously think about the D300, but it will not come
within my budget (£600-£800)

I have taken a real fancy to the D200, and thought my mind was made up,
but then..

The D60 seems to have the same processing engine as the 200, as well as
the same pixel count. The 60 comes with a VR lens, but the 200 is built
better..The D80 seems a logical step, but I think its imaging hardware
is different to the 60 and 200.

So, D60? D80? D200? D300 and divorce?? :-)

I have both the D200 and D300, the D200 is a great bit of kit, very well
built, handles nicely and produces excellent images. However the D300
blows it away in terms of image quality, particularly at high ISOs, the
sensor and processing engine have the lowest noise I've seen at the
price by a long way. I'd go for the D200 over either the D60 or D80 due
to the build quality but would take the D300 over any other current
Nikon model, including the D3 which is just too heavy for me - I do a
lot of motorsports and wilderness photography both of which make weight
a significant, although not overriding, concern.
