Having read elsewhere about problems with cash-back offers in general and
Canon cash-back offers in particular (albeit in the States), does anyone
here have any experiences - good or bad - to share?
I'm thinking of buying a new Canon but I'd like to think I really am going
to get my fifty squiddlies.
TIA,
R.

I don't think there has ever been a problem in the UK, so you should
be OK.
However, the situation in the USA is lamentable, being comparable to
the mobile phone rental charge rebate problems here in the UK.
On the other hand, depending on which Canon camera you intend to buy,
it may be worth waiting for the new Canon DSLRs that will be announced
later in the year. Rebates are usually offered to help shift stocks
of the models that are due to be replaced, and I don't think this is
an exception to that rule.

Hello.
A friend of mine posted her rebate applications at the end of January.
The money arrived last week. It was the correct amound (about £200, I
believe) so the only problem was the wait to receive it.
By the way -the rebates didn't persuade her to buy any equipment that was
not already on her "this is what I want to buy" list.
Bye,
Ian.

I got my cashback when I bought my 350D, and like you I was sceptical
and scanned everything and sent the paperwork by Registered Post!

When I got my 20D I got a book of vouchers, I used four of them and got
about £150 back no probs. I even managed to sell the ones I didn't use on

There's a fundamental difference between vouchers and cashback offers.
Do you really need to be told what it is?

CASH BACH offer?????

You must be joking. You still can't see the difference?

And after all this, you still cannot see the difference between
vouchers and cash back?
It is fundamental.
