Storing old photos: suppliers?

Google's letting me down today. I have a thousand or so old family photos to
sort out and file. Obviously I'll scan the better ones but I would like
store them so that they are reasonably accessible but stored in archive
quality materials. There are a lot of small prints so I think I want to use
photo corners on good quality acid free paper / card. Post binders would be
good as this will make it easy to sort pages. I can find any number of US
and Canadian "scrapbook" suppliers, but from UK suppliers there seems to be
nothing between suspension systems and, dare I say it, rather tacky albums.
I'd like something a bit nicer than "Office Supplies" binders without
spending a fortune. And preferably one supplier for card, tissue paper,
binders, and corners.

I was going to suggest Colchester Photographic Wholesale but a quick
check reveals they went under last year. However you might try Calumet
who bought their goodwill, e.g. big range of Spicer Hallfield stuff in
the sales: http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/onsale
not to mention various other brands (perhaps SH stuff is what you
consider tacky thoough? Some of it looks a bit dated). Haven't used
Calumet myself, it's some years since I needed this kind of thing (hence
not noticing CPW had gone under).

After all, what is your hosts' purpose in having a party? Surely not
for you to enjoy yourself; if that were their sole purpose, they'd have
simply sent champagne and women over to your place by taxi.

Thanks, looks quite promising, but hopeless descriptions, probably fine if
you know the name of what you want. Also, when you search for photo corners
you get LaCie firewire hard drives........

Thanks, I found them subsequently. Still not the most descriptive of sites
if you don't really know the jargon, they won't give you prices or let you
order without registering, and the site is full of dire warnings how only
professional photographers need apply. One part of the site claims they have
links to suppliers, but I couldn't find it, and they havn't yet replied to
my email asking for local suppliers. Why do some companies make it so hard
to buy their products?
