Availability of D70s in UK

Local camera shop tells me that Nikon D70s's aren't available ATM
because of a problem with he sensor. Amazon UK show several weeks,
but not Amazon US.

Anyone know any more about the problem?

I've had one on order from Amazon UK since 29th September. The
estimated delivery date has already slipped a month and the current
estimate is, well, about now actually. I'm not holding my breath,
however, and I don't really expect delivery until next year. If the
delivery date slips again I might cancel the order and try elsewhere.
A friend managed to get one from Warehouse Express a couple of months
back after a wait of _only_ 8 weeks.
