I'm having a very very bad experience with these guy right now (a multitude
of excuses but no delivery of goods)

Anyone else had issues (or good dealings) with 'em ?

I've bought several items from them, with no problems either at the
time or when after-sales service was required.

Sales advice is non-existent - I bought on price and availability.

I have bought a couple of lenses from them in the last 2-3 years. I had
no problem, but these were over-the-counter purchases, purely on price
and location (they used to be in Regent Street).

    So their retail outlet has moved? No word about it on their
website.

yes.

they are now just round the back of the "Hanger Lane traffic-jam" in Park
Royal on a business park and are obviously focussing on mail order and not
over-the counter stuff (they do not have a counter in the new place!)

web site address is kaput
web site phone numbers are kaput - unless, of course you want to speak to a
very pissed-off lady who has inherited their old shop number. use 0845 644
3155 which works intermittently (did you know that BT operator cannot do a
line check on 0845 number??)

I resolved my problem by driving to their new location and banging on the
door on Saturday afternoon until the owner came out.

Wierd really - nothing seemed too untoward other than the place is in total
chaos with no stock control, no shipment tracking, no invoicing, no
photocopier, no serial number logging and boxes and boxes of mixed products
all over the floor.

My missing (and paid for) order still ain't arrived - Westbase have no means
of tracking it and CityLink have nowt for me or my address.

Good job I paid them a polite visit and collected a duplicate set of goods
against my order (the order took the guy 25 minutes to find in amongst all
the paperwork on the floor).

Shame really, great prices, a reasonable rack/box full of the popular
items - could be a real little gold-mine...

So, based on my experience, have no qualms about ordering from them right
now - just plan to go and collect rather than have them try to ship out to
you.
