It might worth it to order the camera in Hongkong. A friend just got
his 10D from there and is quite happy with how it went. I'd prolly
rather buy in Germany (as I live there), but, hm, if you really save
some hundred quid this way...

No, the UK market is characterised by shadowy (and probably illegal)
agreements between importers and retailers to maintain prices at
artificially high levels.
