Hi.
I've just bought my second digital camera, a Fuji S602Z, for £ 449.
I've had it a weeks & taken about 100 pix so far.
It feels & behaves like like a "real camera", especially when compared
to the first camera, a Kodak 3700 & will, once I get to grips with all
it's features, satisfy my digicam needs for some considerable time!
I can't coment about it's ability to produce prints, if only because
I've never felt the need to print any digital images so far!
It's very easy to burn one's (edited) pictures onto a CD-R & play them
back as a slide show on one's TV set, via the DVD player.
I didn't want to spend too much on a digital camera, so I was happy to
be able to buy one of the Kodak "£100 mistakes" & experiment with it.
It's a pocket, point & shot camera, with limitations bit it was a good
intro imto the digital world.
If you have a £500 budget, the Fuji S602Z could be a good choice for
you, as it's quite possible to use it as an automatic camera, with a
very useful 6-1 optical zoom lens, whilst learning about it's
capabilities as a manual coamera.
At least the learning curve, is very cost effective, it's MUCH cheaper
to make mistakes. & learn from them, with a digital camera.
I still have, & use a pair of manual 35mm SLR's, which would be my
cameras of choice were I looking to produce a print album.
To forstall any sarcastic comments, I don't consider myself to be a
photographer, nor do I want to be one, but, as a happy railfan I'm
glad to be able to record what I see & to be able to email my pictures
to my friends.
Go the the camera stores, look, handle what's around for app. £500,
try out the functions, decide what's best for you & then search for
the best deal.
Enjoy, David C.
