I'm looking for the best digital p&s for under the tree this year for
two of my older kids. They will likely use it for ski trips, golfing
pic's etc. and should be of slim design so its easy to carry. Costco has
the Samsung Digimax A503 for 159C$, nice slim design and big lcd screen
(another plus) but looks like a fixed focus lens, however this may be ok.

Any other recommendations?

Canon A530 or A540, though thy aren't slim. They're easy to hold, and
use AA batteries. The A540 is a little more expensive, but is more
flexible than the 530.

Kodak EasyShare C330, C340, C360, C533, C663, C643, C875, C743, C433.

(Some of these cameras have small LCD screen, and some of them are over
$200... but all of them will produce pleasing quality shots.)
