Undecided for AF speed

Hi. I'd like to throw away my 1-year old nikon coolpix 2100 for its
awful speed, on startup an worse than that, for the autofocus... this is
really slow.

I'm not sure what kind of camera to buy. Can you suggest me one? I've
read some reviews on these:

- coolpix 7600
- coolpix 7900

These two seem to be very slightly different (don't know if the 7600 has
ISO control). I'm not used to canon cameras, but anyway, any canon/nikon
or known brand could be good.

My Sony DSC-P200 seems quite fast. There are good reviews on the web for
this camera.
