I have focus problems with my Z40. When I compare like for like images with
my pals Z4 his images are sharper. Any ideas?

Could you be more specific?

I personally found that my Z40 is not sharp at 4MP, but it seems
to be at 1600x1200.  (I had the first one replaced as it was
extremely unsharp on the right hand side, very clearly visible
in the LCD --- and made a few shots with a 3rd one.  All not as
sharp at 4MP as they could be.)

Thanks for the reply.
Difficult to say the degree of focus error, both cameras were set on full
res. and min. compression (optimum setting)The error is not visible on
camera LCD but is visible when displayed on PC screen and is across the
whole image. Another problem I have, which is probably unrelated is that
when in movie mode the image has a pink haze down the one side. These two
faults spoil for me what is a nice camera to use.
