I realize this may be OT, but I thought this group may be better
equipped to answer .

I'd like some feedback from those who own White Lightning strobes on
what you like & dislike about them.  I'm considering the X-800 &
X-1600.

Thanks

David ,
I had a simular question about White Lightning under
"rec.photo.equipment.misc" news group with the
subject "White Lightning vs Calument Travelite" .

I called White Lightning and asked for a quote on two
X1600 with stands, umbrella and case , it was over $1300 .
While the Travelite was selling for $1000 and more watts
second , 1500 vs 1320 .  I have seen the Travelite in the
local store and it look very strudy , but heavier .
Heard White Lightning has very good services and their
replacement bulbs are cheaper .  In the future I may get
one of the X1600 or X800 to supplement the Travelite , but
for now I'm happy with the Travelite .

I own four White Lightning 1200's. They're older models than the new
ones but they are worth their weight in gold! I've had mine for almost
seven years and have had to replace only one flash tube in that time.
I use them to shoot hockey in a 10,000 seat arena and they get the job
done. Plus, I've set them up just about anywhere you can imagine to
shoot portraits or whatever. Worth every cent, they're made in the USA
as well. My suggestion, BUY!!!!!!
