A photographer I know that specializes in children finds that mom
playing with the infant's feet is usually a winner. He typically leaves mom
out of the frame and goes for a 3/4 on the kid, but you can alter this to
do more profile of both. Mom can position her arms, and at the same time
junior's legs, to keep things tasteful. Hope mom doesn't have a big nose,
because you're stuck with profile.

You could try a variation of this with the toddler in front of mom,
back to her chest, and mom reaching around to tickle toes or whatever.
Allows better frontal angles, and can still be PG rated if positioned
right.

Mom from back, kid looking backwards over bare shoulder, mom's head
full sideways and smiling down at junior. Junior should be laughing if
possible.

Mom and kid playing in big quilt on bed. Plenty of variety possible.

Mom in 3/4 profile head-&-shoulders, looking to side of frame.
Toddler in crook of nearest arm, hiding things, looking same way.
Alternately mom sitting, full-body, nearest leg slightly raised, arms
around or out to junior, who is behind leg, sitting or standing. Position
mom's arms and legs to fit.

Tight closeup only on toddler's face (forehead to chin), mostly
profile. Mom in near-background, looking towards camera/junior, well out-
of-focus, maternal smile. Head-&-shoulders for mom. Hey, I gotta try this
one myself.

The old, pretty trite classic of both standing hand-in-hand, full
length from the back. Depends on how tasteful they find butts to be.

While it may seem obvious, I picture most of these with very light or
white settings, enhances the innocent aspect.

Hope this starts some ideas going. Good luck!
