taking a flash photo in a mirror without the glare?

Can anyone tell me how to take a flash photo of myself in a mirror
without getting the flash glare on the mirror?

bounce the flash off the ceiling

or side wall, my favorite choice to bounce.

or set the camera on a tripod and shoot at an angle.  but if you have the
pod, why not just shoot with the window light?
