This question was posed on the z-prophoto mailing at yahoogroups.com.

Since this newsgroup is so dead lately I thought I'd post it here.  I'll
give my list tomorrow.

Everything you see on my website (http://www.erochron.com) was shot in
my home studio. It's probably about as minimal as you can get.

Here's what I've been working with: it's a tiny 12'x12' space in my
basement with 8' high ceilings. I use two B400 (160ws) Alien Bees
strobes with umbrellas. I have three backgrounds: one is flat black,
one is a mottled copper-colored muslin, and one is the concrete wall
of my basement. I have a thin carpet on the floor and a black muslin
for the floor as well.

This has worked well for me for close to three years, but I started
feeling itchy about the size of the space a couple of months ago, so
I'm finally moving out into some new, rented space.

not bad, some a bit stark, but you did a lot in the space.

try this, take the brollies off and blast both heads against a side wall, or
one on the side wall and the other behind the camera wall.

thanks - I'll try that - I've just moved into a larger studio space
with a big, white side wall.
