I will be travelling to southern Oregon in 2 weeks with a couple of free
days to make the drive back to Portland, and am curious what the
photographic opportunities might be. I've visited the area in summer and
taken the usual spots on the seacoast, but never fall.
What will the fall foliage be like at that time?
Any unusual seasonal opportunities (like migrating wildlife)
Any reason to take an inland route instead?

About a month ago, I was up the Gorge from Portland to the Maryhill
Museum. Between Portland and Hood River there are about a half dozen
waterfalls...just take the exits for the old highway.

Inland there is Crater Lake and Silver Falls State Park. Photographic
opportunities abound on the coast.
