Where to Go?

Looking to take a little road trip this week sometime and wonder where the
best places to go would be in BC, Canada. Any ideas?

Funny thing, BC is a pretty big place and well I dont' get an opportunity to
travel much, thought I would start close to home.

Where are you coming from and what are you looking for?

Assuming you are coming west from Calgary you could go through either Yoho
or Kootenay National Parks.  Then there are the marshes along the Rocky
Mountain trench with access into the Selkirk Mountains in places like
Bugaboo Provincial Park if you don't mind hiking.  Heading west from Golden
on the Trans Canada you will go through Glacier then Mount Revelstoke
National Parks.  If it is open there is a road up to the alpine meadows at
Mt. Revelstoke.  Next come the Monashee Mountains after Revelstoke, although
access into some of the more spectacular areas is a little more difficult.
After Sicamous and the Mara Lake area you will come to Shuswap Lake at
Salmon Arm.  Check to see if there are any salmon running at Adams River.
That is interesting if they are on the spawning beds.  Next comes the
Thompson River Valley and Kamloops and the semi arid interior dry belt with
its sage brush and bunch grass.  At Cache Creek the Trans Canada turns south
along the Thompson and Fraser River Valleys for more drybelt formations.
That is only one small strip of a big province.  The possibilities go on and
on.

You are welcome to come to the Okanagan and try some of our great wines.
The air is still a little smoky and the forest travel is still not allowed
due to the extreme fire hazard, but that should be changing soon.
