Going digital with Cameta?

Dear community,

now that I have decided to step into the digital era, I wonder where to
best buy my first digital Nikon body.

After months of watching, reading reviews and checking my own needs I
decided to start with a Nikon D2H, instead of the D2X, which will become
more affordable in the near future. And since I intend to stay with my F4s
bodies doing landscape and macro work, D2X can wait a bit (wonder how long
this will be ;-)

Okay, what's the topic of my question?

Since the German market for used and mint D2H body doesn't offer very much
occasions I started to take a broader view and I became aware of Cameta
who are offering mint demo bodies via ebay.

Can you tell me of your experience with this dealer? Is he reliable?

Any other hints on US or other dealers would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance

No personal experience with them, but you can check out dealers like
this at the www.resellerratings.com site, where users give feedback and
rank them ... here's the link for Cameta ...
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1697.html ... they have a very
high rating but not many feedback replies.  I'd read all these replies
carefully (it's not unknown for companies to have their employees write
glowing reviews so make sure these sound different :) ... but it sounds
like this is a good choice.  The rip-off places are usually rated below
2.0 and these guys are rated over 9 so far.

That's a useful site. Thanks, Bill.

It's interesting, but unsurprising, to see how 7dayshop is rated -

They seem to have an A-list and a Z-list.
I'm firmly on their Z-list.

I have purchase very old used cameras from Cameta with no problems. If
you're not satisfied with what you get you can return it, but I
purchased by mail directly from the store and not through eBay.

B&H photo and KEH Camera should also be good places to purchase.  They
both have web sites.
