Just a heads up, in case there are some Florida Photographers who would
like some images of mating AHC (Atlantic Horseshoe Crabs).

This morning on the Gulf Coast beaches of Florida, west of Tampa, there
are many AHC digging into the sand beaches on the causeways to mate and
lay their eggs. It could be happening all along the coast of Florida.

Don't know if this should be posted here or not. Thought it might be of
interest.

If there are other Florida Photographers out there I would like a heads
up when and where something happens in Florida. Either by this group or
another group, or by email. I will try and post here, or some other
place if this is not the right group, when I see and shoot different
nature related events happening in Florida.

       Hey PWW,

Atlantic coast at Melbourne, here. Noticed that the areas where I
often go wading have given over the normal regulars of stingrays to the
horseshoe crabs, figured a different season was upon us.

Still learning the habits of many of the critters around here, so
sure, I'd love to hear about any news like this. Can't hurt to post it
publicly within the group, at least until enough people complain (I figure
1,000 oughta do it). Since there hasn't been much going on in here
recently, it might serve to stir up some interest.

Do you know of anyplace online to identify various crab species? I've
caught several locally, doing detail shots within fish tanks, and haven't
the faintest idea what they are. I figure one of these days I'm going to
have to take a photo album out to one of the universities ;-).

Good luck, and I hope you catch some of the hatchings!
