I am actually. Optically it is a good lens when stopped down but
the flare is quite heavy. I don't know if the problem is specific
for this particular lens or wide angle lenses in general, though.
I bought mine in used condition and it doesn't have a lens hood.

thank you for the reply
i'm collecting info before actually buying my first wide-angle lens
time to expand from 50/1.7

yes i have tech data of all kinds
but also i would like to hear from real users

so wide-angle lens hood is a must-have accessory?

Personally I almost always use a tripod so I can spare
one hand as a "lens hood", but otherwise it could be a
good investment. However, since it is a wide-angle lens
the sun will very often be in the frame and in this case
the hood doesn't help - removing all unnecessary filters
and using a small aperture will minimize the problem.
