I'll be in SoCal in a couple of weeks and wanted to photograph at Bolsa Chica,
probably limited to one PM and the next AM mid-week. Can anyone who has 'been
there, done that' give me a feel for the place as to what to expect, what times
are best (morning or evening), any security issues, that sort of stuff?
I'd really like to get some good Wood Duck shots if possible, but I'm not
choosy ...
Thanks.

This reply probably comes too late, but major reconstruction/restoration
work back in November of 2004. The 'wood bridge' that flies over the
water (next to Pacific Coast Highway) will be closed to the public for
some time.
I think the other entrance (by the Interpretive Center on Warner St)
is still open. Best bet is to call the Interpretive Center during
the day, and ask. (www.bolsachica.org)
