That's a good range of species you've covered, Jerry, and you have a nice
technique. Congratulations.
Many of those photos would have been even better, in my opinion, if you
had done some 'gardening' first. In other words, you remove or push aside
some of the twigs and grass stems that distract attention from the main
subject. There's no need to overdo it; just get the main ones out of shot.
I also wonder if you're using a reflector. A white card, small sheet of
metal, piece of kitchen foil or a mirror put on the dark side of the
subject would lift the shadows, especially underneath.

With the gardening, I have done some, but its hard because often by pulling
away a twig etc you damage the mushroom itself.
About the reflector, No I have not tried that yet, Thanks for the tip.

Naturally you don't want to do that. which is why I also suggested pushing
them aside. Rest something on them if they keep springing up.
