Could someone fill me in on the bigger/better nature photo contests?

The two biggies that I'm aware of are the British Broadcasting Corp/British Gas
"Wildlife Photographer of the Year" competition and the "Nature's Best"
magazine's yearly competition. Open to pros or ammies ... lots of great images
in both. A variety of categories, so it's not just wildlife.

Several people who have contributed to this NG in the past have won or placed
in the "Nature's Best" competition.

     Ditto on the "Nature's Best" opinion. Great magazine, great contest.
I've found most contests to be scams to get images for advertising purposes
without paying for them, and I generally ignore them. NB is different, and
one of these days, I'll be seen in there.

     Needless to say, I'm not one of those people Bill mentioned... ;-)
