Thank you for the input, all is appreciated. You are the second person to
comment on my using FrontPage. I really didn't know this was a "boo boo".
What are peoples suggestions on an alternative. It comes with my Office
Suite and is the only thing I have. Not really wanting to spend ooodles of
money on some other program either. Does anyone know of a cost efficient
alternative???

The thing about FrontPage is that it's 'married' to IE, which forgives its
faulty code, but any other browser shows it up.
On a personal site you *could* choose, if you wished, to leave it at that:
after all, most of your visitors will probably be using IE. M$ probably
'designed' (haha) it that way!
If your site was commercial, you'd have to comply to accessibility laws,
which means your code should be standard, and usable across a range of
browsers.
I can't help with your query: I'm currently using a totally different OS,
for all my work. I've got an HTML editor, which basically saves me the
trouble of typing in all the tags etc. I've got into the bad habit of using
validating but now deprecated tags, though. I've got a lot of 'unlearning'
to do.
However, I'm shortly about to start a web technology course which requires
me to use CSS, so I'll have to bite the bullet and fire up HomeSite which
has been on the PC for months untouched since I installed it. It was highly
recommended, though, so I'm hoping it will be OK.
A great book is Elizabeth Castro's HTML for the world Wide web: a Visual
Quickstart Guide.

Thanks again Liz. You've been a great help, as have everyone who comments. I
forgot about Homesite. I think I still have a copy of that somewhere, I used
to use it before.
