Again, redesigning the website. Always trying to find something that works
smoothly.  Let me know what you think.

You've got some lovely pics there, Trina.
Two 'gripes' from me:
Your enlargements are really big, and take ages to download on dialup.
Admitedly, the quality is great, but I wonder how many people would hang
around long enough to see them.

It might be just my browser (non-'standard') but IMO it looks odd to see the
photo load into the frame with a big grey empty space on the right hand
side. I keep looking at the thumbnail to check I've 'got' the whole picture.

I see you're using FrontPage to produce your site, which could be the
problem.  :-(

Anyway, you've got nice pics and some nice layout ideas.

Just my 2p worth

Slainte

Thank you for the input, all is appreciated. You are the second person to
comment on my using FrontPage.  I really didn't know this was a "boo boo".
What are peoples suggestions on an alternative. It comes with my Office
Suite and is the only thing I have. Not really wanting to spend ooodles of
money on some other program either. Does anyone know of a cost efficient
alternative???

The thing about FrontPage is that it's 'married' to IE, which forgives its
faulty code, but any other browser shows it up.
On a personal site you *could* choose, if you wished, to leave it at that:
after all, most of your visitors will probably be using IE. M$ probably
'designed' (haha) it that way!

If your site was commercial, you'd have to comply to accessibility laws,
which means your code should be standard, and usable across a range of
browsers.

I can't help with your query: I'm currently using a totally different OS,
for all my work. I've got an HTML editor, which basically saves me the
trouble of typing in all the tags etc. I've got into the bad habit of using
validating but now deprecated tags, though. I've got a lot of 'unlearning'
to do.

However, I'm shortly about to start a web technology course which requires
me to use CSS, so I'll have to bite the bullet and fire up HomeSite which
has been on the PC for months untouched since I installed it. It was highly
recommended, though, so I'm hoping it will be OK.

A great book is Elizabeth Castro's HTML for the world Wide web: a Visual
Quickstart Guide.

Thanks again Liz. You've been a great help, as have everyone who comments. I
forgot about Homesite. I think I still have a copy of that somewhere, I used
to use it before.

Comments, Suggestions and HELP?

http://members.shaw.ca/tcbulmer/index.html

I find that posting to these NG's really has been the best help ever.
People are very candid and generally don't hold back. The product of
anonimitu I suppose. Whatever works I say! So .............. again I post my
latest creation with the hopes that those who in the past have helped me
will continue to do so and anyone else with a moment to spare will do the
same.  I don't offend with critisism as long as it is constructive. I truly
believe that we are all learning all the time. LIfe is, afterall, a learning
adventure, don't you think?  Thanks in advance to all who take the time to
read this and to take a look at my site.
