I'm looking for a very solid photo printer for between
$150.00 and $200.00. I've been told that these days
the difference in quality is not that much, but there is a
difference in the various options.
I'm looking for name brand with ink and paper that won't
cost an incredible amount after we buy the thing.
Thanks friends.

It ain't so much what you smoke but how you smoke it.
If you do not learn to print correctly, and achieving correct color balance
is not the simple thing that printer manufacturers would have you believe,
then you will be unhappy with a printer at any price.
I am very partial to Epson because if you want to advance in your
understanding of color management and printing the Epson print drivers are
much more sophisticated and are easier to learn to use correctly with color
management than Canon's. I also do not care for the quality of HP
photoprints.

Make sure you stay away from any Dell Printers.
