Hi
I am buying a canon 50mm mark 1 lens and was wandering if anyone knows
whether the optical quality is as good as the mark 2
or if there is a website with a comparison test

The optical quality is the same. The difference is in the build. The
MKII has a plastic mount , the MKI has a metal mount. The MK I , when
you can find it used, is more expensive.
