I'm looking for a remote flash trigger that would work correctly when other
photographers are flashing in the same room. That means either a radio slave
or maybe infrared slave (wein?) though I'm not sure the later kind is immune
from interferences.
When I started checking prices, I'm shocked to see them sell for several
hunderd dollars a piece. I can get a 2-mile range walkabout radio for $30 a
pair, why do radio slaves cost so much more? Nevermind.
Since I have no experience in this equipment, I would like to get some
advice for a first time buyer. I seem to recall some radio slaves can be
used as a remote shutter release as well. Does anyone remember what
brand(s)?
I see one store on ebay selling a bunch of radio slave called GT301-B with a
starting bid of $30. Has anyone used it? Good or bad?

VOLUME...family radios are produced in relatively large quantities,
making them cheaper to build. Cheaper to build = lower price. Not
many radio slaves sold each year in comparison. Low volume = high
costs for parts, labor, etc. High cost = higher prices than high
volume items.
