I understand the difference between monolights and power packs.  I
am concerned with power, only.  Currently I own 3 White LIghtening
Ultra 1200's.  I would like to add a Speedotron Black line power
pack.  I am thinking of the 805, but is that as powerful as what I
currently have?  I understand that watt seconds means little.

My real question is:  Does anyone know how to compare the two
brands with respect to light output?

It's called a light meter.  What you really need are real world numbers
rather than published figures.  Any number furnished by the maker will be
skewed in favor of their brand and may include weird reflectors or
techniques.

Just a guess but a Speedotron 805 with one blower head at full power is
going to blow any 1200 White Lightning out of the water.  Especially if you
can mount identical reflectors on both units.

Exactly why I am posting.  I have the White LIghtning, but I don't
have the Speedotron, sort of hard to take a lightmeter to, ya
know;)

This is what I am guessing, I am just hoping that someone out
there has both unit and can tell me how they compare in the
realworld.
