I want to be able to leave my camera equipment in my car for a couple hours
at a time.  I live in Minnesota, so most of the time the inside temperature
of the car is either very hot or very cold.  Has anyone tried a plug in
fridge/heater like the Vector cooler/heater for storing equipment in a car?

I'd use a cheap expanded-polystyrene drink chiller. They'll fit a fair
size camera bag, cost almost nothing, & will do an excellent job of
keeping the gear at around the same temperature it was at when you
closed the lid.
