Hi fred,
check the archives of the kiev88 mailing list, also russian cameras list
(best stuff.com etc. too), see mailing lists list at
http://medfmt.8k.com/mf/lists.html for info on lists)
the archives will have some info, plus you can ask for current info from
kiev buyers who have used or checked out Arax etc.

People seem to be ahppy with their service (they are on vacation right now
or very soon, Aug?) and their cameras. If I already didn't have so many P6
mount cameras I'd consider an ARAX K-60. While the Hartblei cameras work
great, their service (took over a year for them to build my last camera!)
is pathetic.

I have found the Arax/upgraded Kiev 88 to be of fine quality.
I have also found the Kiev 88CM to be of good quality.
I also have a plain Kiev 88 upgraded by Kiev Camera with flocking and
wind crank - to be of superior quality.
You make your own choice.
