I have been left a 1960's rolleicord vb camera in mm uncles will, it
has been used about 5 or 6 times in its life and is unmarked with the
original unmarked leather case and strap,  it has a
schneider-kreuznach zenar 75mm 3.5 lens which is the silver front and
the front has franke and heidecke written on it, the serial number is
2631349.

Any help on its value and where to sell it in britain (scotland) would
be much appreciated, i cannot give it the use it deserves and could
put the funds towards a new 35mm slr to replace my ageing pentax s1a.

thanks

Andy........

A Rolleicord is not worth that much. Maybe around $200 at the most.
Rolleicords are good TLR cameras, but they were cheaper Rolleiflexes, so
they don't command as much value. Check these out on eBay for a while, and
you will see what prices people are willing to pay for them.

As others have noted, check out Ebay. If it is truly unmarked with unmarked
case (rare) look for a price premium. More so if you have the original
manual or any other original paraphernalia. Serial number puts it towards
the end of the Vb (Type 1) production run...the most common of the Vb's.

Suggest you put a few rolls of film through before selling. Then you can
confirm to buyers that it works. Also, after looking at some of the results
(blow them up) you might just decide to keep it. Nothing worse than 10 years
down the track saying " if only...."

It's worth ?249 judging from the jessops classic websirte
http://www.jessops.co.uk/classic/ And that is the best place to sell it,
although it is in London. They keep 20% and you keep the rest.

...and like the other poster suggested, put a roll of slide film through it
before you sell it. 1) That way you will know if it is truly working
correctly. 2) It will be reassurance to whoever you sell it to. 3) You will
have actually used the camera like your uncle probably wanted. 4) Results
might be so impressive to you (compared to smaller formats) that you will
prefer to keep it.

Can't be any worse that what your Uncle did if he only used it 5 or 6 times
in 40+ years!  :-)

It it is really mint and everything works, about $300?
