No.

As long as you get 12 frames on a roll, and they don't touch or even
overlap, i wouldn't worry. Keep using the back and have it serviced when a
regular service is planned anyway, or whenever it is most convenient.

A bit, yes. That is, the wind mechanism is preset, and this preset is
calibrated to "normal" film thickness. Spacing will vary when "abnormally"
thick/thin films are used. But i think all films currently available are
within tolerances, enough to give good spacing (= 12 shots fit on a roll,
and the frames don't touch or overlap).
However, this is a matter quite separate from the wind vs crank issue.
