a good friend of mine may sell me his hassie. this would be my first
interchangeable slr medium format camera --at the moment i own a
rolleiflex f3.5 planar bought 2nd hand by my dad in the early
seventies.
i was looking for a 503cw because i'd really like to install the cw
winder and i wanted the gms system --hoping, one day, to have a 250mm
hasselblad lens--. i found very few 503cx's around ebay, but they
don't sell cheap, then perhaps it's not worth the possible money save
--since i understand that cx doesn't have gms and will vignet in the
viewfinder when using longer focals.
since he doesn't have an idea of the camera value and he wasn't really
looking to sell it, he told me to make a price, but i have no idea of
a reasonable price for a b+/a- kit like that one. i'll be the third
owner: first owner was a professional that had that camera serviced by
hasselblad just before selling it to my friend; 2nd owner is a graphic
designer professional, that shot just a couple of tens of rolls
--color negative, mainly, but some b&w too-- and i'll be the 3rd one.
the camera is in good cosmetic condition: it has just lost some black
"paint" in the bayonet coupling with the lens and little wear in the
plate coupling with tripod.
the lens itself is in quite good cosmetic condition, too, with no
fungus, separation or damages on the lenses; however it shows some
brassing (i guess you call it so) here and there.
the a12 film back (is it called magazine or what else in english?) is
in very good shape, with just a little bit lf metal showing in the
side coupling with the camera.
the waist level viewfinder is the part showing the worst aesthetic
condition, having lost some of the black opaque "film" in the left
--looking from the film back side-- part (photos 008 and 009).
i've uploaded some images taken of this camera here:

The prices that show up on Ebay are the low end of the price range as
anything considered overpriced isn't going to be bid for.
Although there are some downsides to buying from Ebay and these being you
can't see what you're buying until you get it! Although it doesn't relate to
you are you have the camera. But a dealer would offer a warranty and you'd
hopeful build up a business relationship with them over time.
The problem with a price is that it's likely to be worth around GBP995 to
GBP1250. But it's a declining market and in 6 months time could be worth
less than that. But it's an investment and will be used for years.
Tele Tessars aren't all that common and they are about GBP500.
Hasselblad do open days at some dealers where you can have the camera and
lens checked over for free although anything that needs doing would be a
service charge. This would give you a chance to have it inspected to ensure
it's ok before you buy it. A service from Hasselblad can be anything from
GBP150/250.
So bear this in mind if you really want to buy it.
