I recently purchased a used 50mm Mamiya shift lens for my 645, but I cannot
figure out how to rotate the lens?  Can anyone help?

The chrome knob at the camera end of this lens hould be turned to set
the amount of shift that you require; the maximum amount of shift before
any vignetting occurs is shown on the nearby coloured scale, and depends
upon the lens orientation.

Lens orientation - rotation - is simply set by turning the body of the
lens as a whole - it has several 'click-in' positions as you rotate it.
The force required to rotate it is significant - so as to allow
focussing-ring operation without rotating the lens.

The rotating ring is nearest the mounting ring.  You will also need t
be sure that the ring which locks the apeture setting is also clicke
into place, even though it's a stop-down lens, if that isn't locked i
the metering gets screwy.  Fun lens, enjoy it!
