Apart from my beginner photography which started by a lubitel 2, i have
since used 35 mm. Now I would like to go forward to MF. I am basically a
hobbyist and cannot afford much. In 35 mm I use old mechanical cameras so I
will not go for expenive ones here. The developing expences are already much
higher than 35 so I would like to get a used cheap MF which can give me good
prints. I read a little bit about Mamiya C330 but I do need a light meter
inside the camera. Yashica mat has it but it does not have interchangable
lens facility which I think is important for some more seriouse shots. (In
fact this camera for me must ONLY be used for well thought and seriouse
shots as the develp prices here in Norway does not let playing around). Can
I get a decent camera with a lens with interchangable lenses and light meter
for under $ 500? What do you recommend?

Mojtaba

Ah, search around and see if you can find a used Rollei SLX for a decent
price. Here in the UK they are available for around ?400.

I'm starting to see good Pentax 645 kits for around $450-$550 USD on
ebay. The AF bodies have been out for some time so the  manual focus
prices are plummeting. This camera is the perfect transition from 35mm
to medium format. It has all that you seek (interchangable lenses,
accurate metering) and much more.

Take a look at the (manual focus) Pentax 645.  The prices appear to be
decending toward $500 USD for one in good or better condition.

Best Regards.

$300 with the normal 80mm lens. Since you're going to be buying used
you'll need a to budget for at least a CLA. Arax already fixes up the camera
for you. The other issue is that since you want multiple lenses you need to
look at the prices of lenses. I doubt you'll find many MF lenses cheaper
then what the Kiev lenses sell for. Depending on what 35mm camera you have
you might be able to get an adaptor to put the MF lenses onto your 35mm
camera.
