because it's a internal deal, i bought it on the net :-) the seller
told me that the meter is workable.

i get 7 days to test the camera, if i don't satisfy with it, the seller
promised that i can return it to him.

i've already download manuals of 3.5F and 3.5 MX-EVS on the net. i do
know where the DOF scales locate for these models. i just uncertain
that if there is an exception the the 3.5E.
if you tell me the 3.5E also gets a DOF scale, so i can make sure that
the scale was teared off from the body.

Have you looked at this site? Sui Fai is a knowkledgable user of Rollei
cameras, and may be able to help you assess your particular model. Here is
his page on the 3.5f model 1:

Some Rolleiflexes have a white bar on the focussing knob which
changes length when you change aperture on the camera.
Try looking at he focussing knob when chaging the aperture.
It should be obvious then.

It sounds as if there are two things wrong with your camera,
the meter and the DOF scale. If you have not already put a roll
of film through it, I would do so right now. If there is
a place near you that does 120 E6 on a same day basis, I'd
shoot a roll of E6, otherwise shoot B&W negatives.
Neither meter nor DOF scale are in any way essential, so if
everything else is OK it should be usable. Since you have
a return privilege, I'd be inclined to see if you could
renegotiate the price based on the fact that certain features
don't work properly.
These cameras are in no way rare and the price you paid
seems in line with BGN grade from KEH, and BGN grade
from KEH is usually reported as pretty good and working
properly.
Peter.
