Well as I stated previously; I got ahold of the new Velvia
in 120 and 35mm. I've shot about tree rolls total out of the six
I initially bought. It appears to have really fine grain on the light
box and scans very well. The impression I have of the color is that it
quite accurate to the  way my eyes typically see color. It is moderately
saturated for most colors, that is I don't find it saturated at the
expense of blocking detail.  Over all ,...It seems somewhat less
saturated than E100vs which is a good thing in my book, but for one
certain shade of red it does saturate a little too much -IMOP.

I also found this Fuji film processes well (for these 3 rolls)
at my normal lab that sometimes has problems with Fuji films
going slightly  green on normal process.

Thanks for the report.

I assume you mean the Velvia 100 and not the Velvia 100F?

Have you compared the 100 to the 100F?  I personally enjoy both the 100F
and E100GX.

Cheers,
Alan

Isn't Velvia 100F discontinued and replaced by Velvia 100?

Still a lot of 100F in the fridges at the stores.

No.  The original asa 50 Velvia is being discontinued and replaced with
Velvia 100.  Velvia 100F has a different palette and presumably Fuji
will supply both 100F and 100.

Still a virgin :)  I took 5 rolls of Velvia and 5 rolls of Velvia 100
to Santa Fe with two 6x7 bodies a couple of weeks ago to test
side-by-side but all I shot was digital instead ... next time I'll drag
the medium format out is Oct for a trip to New England to shoot fall
colors so I guess I'm gonna just shoot it without testing first,
something I've never done before.  Que sera sera ...

Correct the latest greatest 100 not 100F

Hi Greg:

Different perceptions I guess... I find Velvia 100 to be very
oversaturated.  Shot with a Rollei 6008i with the F-Distagon:

Doesn't look all that bad: but regardless of the colors, the next to the
last shot in that group is awesome: extremely effective use of the fisheye.

Thanks for the compliment about my fisheye shots.

Your welcome, another note I shot some of the film this
past week in Monterey, I'll be interested to see how it comes out
it was overcast most of the four days I drove around up and down the
coast.

How does it compare to Kodak Ektachrome Plus (EPP)?
Gregory Blank - 15 Aug 2005 04:24 GMT

> How does it compare to Kodak Ektachrome Plus (EPP)?

I find I like EPP for interiors, as its more neutral than other
films when incandescent and flash are mixed and a long exposure is
used.
That stated  I wouldn't be overly anxious to use the Velvia inside,
mainly because I have used E100vs while doing interiors on occasion and
based on that would anticipate that Velvia would over saturate the
colors of the room.

In terms of sharpness?, maybe on par or even better,...but I'll have to
look again & dig out the job folder & EPP shots I made this past winter.
