I need to enlarge some pictures that I have on my disc. I'd like to
know if there is software out there (inexprensive or free) that will
allow me to enlarge a picture/photo without losing the quality that i
am losing now.  I tried a sotware program before and it didn't work. It
was too complicated for me to undersatnad.  Is there some user
furiendly software out there that will allow me to enlarge a small phot
to 8xll without losing quality?

Thanks

Not to Hairy a.s you my Furi-endly fellow, "butt" this is more a
proper question addressed to rec.digital photo :)

There are quite a few criteria
that determine what one can do with a digital file, more than perhaps
can be expounded in this newsgroup Large Format Photo equipt which
pertains to Large cameras primarily.

Giving others some details as to what software you deemed to be
too hard also will help you, as without that info we must assume that
posting your message was a taxation on your mental skills, after all
doing so does use "software" which by your admission is too complicated.

Also understand that most of this post was stated tongue in cheek,
however the core message that is relevant : is we need more details to
even try helping you meet the success you so desperately desire
and crave to accomplish.

You might ask at the digital group. Do not ask in the photoshop group
because you will get hundreds of responses like "It cannot be done. You
cannot invent data where it does not exist. Extrapolation of any kind does
not work." Now you know.

I hear that Genuine Fractals is the best software for creating data where
none exists (i.e.  photo enlargement)

However it doesn't meet your cheap criteria

Ask rec.photo.digital

On average, regular Photoshop interpolation is as good at inventing data as
anything else.
