I received this message a day or so ago
> I just wanted to let you know that today Kodak Professional introduced Tri-X
320 Film / 320TXP, available in 4x5-inch, 5x7-inch, 8x10-inch, 9x12-cm and
13x18-cm sheets.
from Kodak's pr firm.
The 4x5 is available in 25 and 50 sheet boxes.
This means that Tri-X is now being made in the new factory (It was the last
holdover from the old plant)
No, I do not own stock in Kodak. No, Kodak is not an advertiser (I wish).
Now, we can bitch that
this is not available in Readyload
There may be slight changes in the film from the older factory
Kodak is secretly abandoning film and this is just a joke
or, we can
take the time we would use to post the above and actually buy film to show
that lf is alive and go make photographs

Just another thought...there is software (plug-ins) for photoshop that recreate
the look of various film/developer combinations. (I think the company is
Silverfast or something like that) Again, evidence to me that these
combinations are part of a "vocabulary" in photography. My Rock and Roll
friends are all buying something called A Pod that hooks up between the guitar
and the amp and gives one the different and distinctive sounds of other types
of amplifiers (Marshalls and Fenders and such)...I guess that these plug-ins
are the digital photo counterpart of The Pod.
