I know that at one time there was a Kodak rep that used to
follow this group and I hope that it still the case.
I just heard a rumor that Kodak has discontinued pro-packs
for ektachrome E100vs and that it will only be available
as single rolls. Is there any truth to this rumor??

Ron Baird, a Kodak rep, often posts in the digital newsgroup.  I've never
seen him in any of the other photo newsgroups, though.  You might try to
ping him there.  He's been pretty helpful in the past.

The question is where did you hear that? If its so its a
bad move. But if the price is consistent to the current PP
price who cares?

Just order the film and stipulate all to be the
same emulsion.

I heard it first in June when I tried to get a pro-pack at a local
camera store (Helix) prior to going on vacation. I ended up getting
5 rolls at the single roll price. After I got back I went to Calumet
(another local store) to get a 20-roll pack and was told they were
discontinued. Finally I was at a lab picking up the film from my
vacation and was told the same thing from the person behind the
counter.

Unfortunatly the prices were all single roll prices and no break was
given when I bought multiple rolls. :-(

Just checked a invoice from my dealer, last bought Kodak in April,
however B&H has in stock

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q
=&sku=272450&is=USA&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation

& Here's what Calumet website says:

h&page=2

My point was they should not be discontinuing a larger quantity
allotment to raise the per roll price on film thats already more
expensive compared to the existing competition.

Usually there is no discount unless you buy several hundred rolls or
there is a sale.

The discount I was refering to was the lower price per roll for the pro-packs
vs the cost for individual rolls. I should also have been more clear in that
I talking about 35mm not MF. (I like viewing slides and it's about all I use
my 35mm cameras for anymore.) I did do a bit of looking and found that the
per roll price at Calumet isn't that much higher then the per roll price of
the 20 roll pro-packs that I had been getting. I did like the convenience of
getting a single box with 20 rolls.
