I'm sure Kodak will leave it uncut if requested.
Greetings Michael,
There was at one time, Michael, and the Kodakchrome and Ektachrome was sold
in the European market with different processing options. I believe one of
them was for processing but not mounting. I am not sure if that is still an
option today. I would check with local processors or retailers to see if
they have any details on the packaging. I will try to find more for you.

My luck with this has been poor. I've sent four rolls off using Kodak
prepaid mailers and notes to leave the film uncut and unmounted. Two have
arrived back mounted, ignoring my request; one arrived back in an uncut
strip; and one hasn't yet arrived back.

Hi Rod,
The mailers you talked about before allow for options are sold in the
European market as noted. Europeans take more slides than here in the US.
If you are based here in the US, you can request special process handling,
but it does require time and change as well. Film is not processed on a per
roll basis, but in continuity with others. To extract yours to allow for it
to be uncut and unmounted is much more difficult and time consuming. So,
harder to provide. Hence more than likely a higher price? Check with the
processor about it. Since you have received one already, it is obviously
possible and without charge so far, so continue to ask for it.
Talk to you soon.
