My wife has a Kodak CX4330 camera, and she LOVES it. However, like most
digital cameras I have seen, it requires a lot of light. Not only are
some pictures dark (even though they are taken outside), but the action
shots are frequently blurred. What is the next step up in a camera that
will work better under low light conditions and also has a better zoom?

I've been on this same search for many, many months - I want a lot of zoom,
good (or great) low light performance and *minimal* shutter lag.  I don't
think such a camera exists, unless you spend US$1000+ on a DSLR and extra
lenses, which I absolutely cannot afford (plus I don't want to have to
change lenses all the time!)

I ended up buying the 2mp Panasonic DMC-FZ1 because of its amazing lens and
incredible 12x optical zoom, but it doesn't do well in low light.

I'll be reading this thread with great interest!
