Smartmedia problem

I have 3 smartmedia cards which I use in my Olympus
D-340R camera. They all read in the camera & I can view the contents on the
camera screen.

My SanDisk image mate card reader will not read one of the cards even though
there are images there. Only thing which has changed recently is that I
formatted this one card in the sanDisk through the PC.

I have looked the manual for a way to format the card in the camera, but
can't find any instructions for this.

Anyone had a similar problem or know how to format the card in the camera.

Cheers

Drew.

That is something you should never do. Never format a Smartmedia card in
a USB reader.

It's somewhere in the camera menu.

The reason you should never format a card in a reader is this:
Most cameras use a 16bit fat. Windows (XP for instance) wil format a card
using a 32bit fat, which renders the card unreadable by the camera.
