I'm looking for an inexpensive digital camera and found the Sanyo VPC-S500.
It looks like it would meet my needs, e.g. five megapixels, optical
viewfinder, 3x optical zoom, and SD memory slot. It uses AA batteries so I
figure I can get rechargeable AA. Unfortunately, I can't try before I buy
(mail order) so I wanted to get opinions. How is this camera for shutter
lag, auto-focusing, picture quality and battery life? Also, I can't find
out the exact case size. Does anyone know the measurements? I checked the
Sanyo site and can't find a listing for it, but if anyone can point me to a
manual.pdf I'd be grateful.

Well, I did find a manual and discovered that this model doesn't have an
optical viewfinder, which is a must. Any suggestions for pocket size
camera meeting my requirements for under $100 will be appreciated.
