Canon Digital Rebel XTi: JPEG

Tech question: the file loader my friend uses does not accept jpegs
from the camera, but when I save it as a jpeg in adobe fireworks its
fine. Any reason why?

What is a 'file loader'?

My guess is that your friend's computer does not have the proprietary
software needed to download directly from the camera.
I'll bet if you just put the camera's memory card in a card reader, it
will download the pictures just fine.
