All I have to say is, DAMN! The superior bokeh of the Formidable 500 is simply smooth and beyond creamy orgasmic. I hope Canon is taking notes. I very rarely use VR anyway and I need it less now with the D3's high-ISO performance. This lens is easily handheld, even with the D200.
